Founder/President

Jerry started the agency in 1976 when he had two young kids, a mortgage payment, $1,500 in cash, a desk and a whole lot of nerve. The other asset he had was experience as Vice President and General Manager at one of the top creative agencies in the South. Now one of the icons of the Hampton Roads advertising industry, Jerry brings a unique combination of business smarts and creative talent to the agency’s clients. He is passionate about the business. He’s passionate about contemporary art. And he’s really passionate about his Harley-Davidson, which he’s ridden several times across the U.S. When he’s not on the open road he can be found in his kitchen trying out new recipes, tasting great wine and entertaining friends. His business acumen and generosity toward charitable organizations have cemented his popularity in the region.

Brantley Davis

Executive Vice President/Washington, D.C. Manager

Brantley joined the agency more than 20 years ago after a career in the television industry. As the Manager of the Washington D.C. office, he is the primary point of contact for the agency’s legislative and political clients. He is also the agency’s management contact for personal injury law firms throughout the U.S. His prior experience also includes marketing in the financial, health care and retail segments. His highly competitive demeanor is welcomed by his clients, contributing to the longevity of client relationships. He has helped to shape the immigration debate in America and was credited by the New York Times for directing the campaign that changed the balance of power in Congress in the 2000 elections. Brantley is a workout freak and can be found in the weight room when he’s not in the board room.

Sarah Nicosia

Vice President/Director of Accounts/Virginia Beach Manager

Sarah’s Minnesota demeanor servers her well in the fast-paced world of advertising. She somehow manages a large staff, key accounts and a family with equal amounts of cool and humor. She is works with ease in diverse industries: hospitality, fast food, retail, higher education, automotive, healthcare and financial services. Married to a U.S. Navy Seal, she brings a unique insight to many of the area’s defense related businesses. As Director of Accounts, Sarah has spearheaded the agency’s transition into the digital sphere, ensuring that Davis clients have every possible marketing channel at their disposal to drive and measure consumer awareness, interest and sales. Sarah grew up in Minnesota, a fact that she will remind you of at every opportunity. She attended St. Olaf College in Minnesota. She is all about family, fashion and travel. Did we mention she is from Minnesota?

If he wanted to, Andy could run a restaurant. Fortunately he prefers the ad business. Andy has been with the agency 15 years after time on the client side. He is the agency’s franchise guru with senior marketing roles at Southland Corporation, Arby’s Inc., and the AFA Service Corporation. Andy has directed Arby’s advertising co-ops throughout the East Coast, from Virginia to upstate New York. He knows the quick service restaurant industry inside and out, skills and knowledge that can be applied to virtually any business. Andy is a basketball fanatic and is about the only golfer on the Davis team.

Digital Director

Sometimes careers take some odd twists and turns. After graduating from James Madison University, Will became a banker. While he was lending people money he became fascinated with the digital world and built his first website 12 years ago for which he charged $100. Soon he began investing in websites and domains and flipping them for a profit. He built his own interactive business after teaching himself the intricacies of code and programming languages. Will is not just a computer nerd. He is a big picture guy, digital designer, full-stack developer, analytic and manager. He is Google certified in search and analytics. He’s a golfer, snowboarder and Baltimore Orioles fanatic who can give you any Cal Ripken stat.

Some of us have trouble asking for exactly what we want. Carrie Woolridge never does. With a big laugh, long list of media contacts and deep industry insight, our Media Director is a skilled negotiator who treats every station, vendor and publication as her partner. And while she never demands a thing, she has no problem asking for it. No matter how low of a rate she gets. That’s part of what makes Carrie one of the region’s most widely known and respected media professionals. Planning, negotiating and buying media in more than 50 U.S. markets every year, she offers our clients more than 22 years of experience in broadcast, print, outdoor and digital media, serving a huge array of clients from Priority Automotive and CHKD to Troy University. We love every hilariously brilliant minute with Carrie. Even when she asks us for things. Chances are you will, too.

Senior Media Buyer

Sherri is a media powerhouse in the Washington, D.C. office. She has been an advertising media professional for more than 18 years. Prior to joining the Davis Agency she was Ethnic Media Director with SportsPlus, an Omnicom Company. Sherri is a sports nut but especially likes college football and basketball. She is also very lucky. She has won the NFL pool run by the former Sports Editor for the Dallas Morning News. One of her favorite quotes is, “It’s beyond me why anyone would deprive themselves of my company.” We agree!

If there’s a word for that, we usually just ask Richard. Our resident wordsmith always knows. You may not know Richard, but you’ve likely seen his work. A nearly 20-year veteran of the Hampton Roads advertising market, Richard has helped dozens of brands make the most of their creative messaging. Digital, print, broadcast, public relations – you name, he’s probably written it. From Tidewater Community College, TakeORF.com and Outer Banks travel to the full client roster at Davis, Richard remains as passionate as ever about finding creative solutions that inspire consumers to action. A graduate of California State University, Richard began his career as a journalist before moving east and re-inventing himself as an ad copywriter. Today he’s a proud dad and husband, Little League coach, and the guy we look to find just the right words.

To read one of Travis Harger’s social media feeds is to wonder: How does one guy have so many ideas about so many things? Lucky for us, Travis is a big part of our creative team. He brings a million ideas and more than 15 years of film and video experience to Davis, where he guides the production of all television, web and social video content from the agency’s in-house video editing suite. Before joining us, Travis pioneered the Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group’s expansion into video marketing as its Director of Video. His experience includes work across every broadcast medium, with extensive experience in video animation, motion graphics, film and commercial television, rich media advertising and custom photography. Need a video, a concept, a GIF or an opinion about, oh, anything? Just ask Travis.

When he’s not at home sharing his small apartment with his huge St. Bernard, Hudson, Jason Halliburton is usually here, designing amazing things for our clients. Talented beyond his years, Jason is our lead designer, bringing the agency’s big ideas to life across every digital and traditional channel. Jason studied Art Design at the Visual Arts Center of TCC, and joined Davis from the marketing department at Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group, where he led the company’s print, digital and rebranding efforts. At Davis, Jason designs for the full slate of the agency’s accounts, including Priority, ADS, CHKD, RNR Tires & Wheels, the Franklin Johnston Group and more.

Social Media Director

If you blend cross fit, American bulldogs, a tasty IPA and a good book, you’ll have Jessica Smith’s perfect weekend afternoon. On weekdays, you’ll find here, managing more than XX agency accounts across every existing and emerging social media channel. Jess is a graduate of Old Dominion University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications and an emphasis in Digital Advertising. Before joining Davis, Jess spent four years working as the Lead Social Media Specialist at ForRent.com. At Davis, she manages all organic and paid social content and online reputation management, integrating each clients’ brand strategy into their social messaging. It’s hard work, but there’s always an IPA, a fiancé and two happy bulldogs waiting when she gets home.

Account Manager and Public Relations Specialist

What does positive energy look like? We say it looks exactly like Meggan Lionberger. Meggan’s boundless energy for the agency’s work and clients always inspires us. Whether it’s a press release picked up by a media outlet, a new digital ad that goes click crazy or staffer who agrees to dress up as Dunkin’ Donut’s mascot “Cuppy,” Meggan keeps our creative engines fueled like a smooth cup of Dunkin’ coffee. In fact, every creative brief she writes to inform our work comes with a healthy dose of insight and enthusiasm. It’s a grace-under-pressure style that serves our clients well. Meggan is a graduate of Roanoke College with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies. In her free time, the soon-to-be Mrs. Meggan Adams is busy planning her wedding, with the same exacting attention to detail she provides our clients. We don’t just think that. We’re positive.
